Drinking a cup of coffee, which has natural
    caffein—not separated, processed caffein,
    placed into drinks—before exercising helps
you to get a better aerobic workout…as long
as you eat something good before or with it.

Drinking coffee without exercise does not give
you an aerobic workout, but it does make you
smarter, helps you do better on standardized
    tests across the board.

Caffeine is not a work out as it will not raise the heart beat enough. There have been lots of studies done on this and the optimum is to drink 1 cup of coffee about 1 hour before exercise and the body burns more calories.

  4. outremerknight says:

No, it is not the same. Caffiene accelerates the heart via the nerves, like a drug, which it is. Aerobics makes the heart work harder pumping more blood and oxygen through your body.

  5. Fifi says:

Black tea & coffee have very few calories & act as a diuretic, so I would have thought they could help weight loss. If you are drinking more than half a pint of milk a day in your hot drinks, that may be slowing down your weight loss. Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. Juice is high in calories, so its better (and more satisfying) to eat the actual fruit instead. Drink water if you feel hungry.

  6. Sarah saz saz says:

It depends if you take your hot drinks with milk and/or sugar. If you have sugar and you are drinking alot this could stop you from loosing weight, as could drinking your drinks with full fat milk. On the other hand, both these type of drinks contain caffiene which is actually meant to help you loose weight!. So perhaps if you do take milk, cut down to skimmed, and if you take sugar, replace it with sweetners. That way drinking hot drinks should’nt be a barrier to weight loss. Try to drink lots of water also, particularly with coffe drinking as it will help flush out toxins. Good luck!

  7. earth_wind_poker says:

i would look more into what you are eating than what you are drinking since it doesn’t sound like your choice of drinks are high in calories…Also look at your physical activity and analyze if you are getting enough exercise. Sorry but No, I don’t think tea and coffee is a barrier to your weight loss.

  9. alexandria1_1999 says:

i would say no as long as you arent overloading it with sugar and cream

  10. Dr Frank says:

If you are not taking sugar in itself neither tea or coffee will affect weight loss. The biggest bar to weight loss is of course sitting on the couch and waiting for it to happen. Yes we are what we eat, but we are even more what we don’t do!

Depends how you use it. When I reached my peak coffee intake (about 25 cups a day) The caffeine gave me alot of energy and all the liquid actually detered me from eating, so I started to lose weight. I am a low average weight so I had to cut down due to becoming underweight. I dont suggest it, but you can work it into a healthy allrounded diet.

you should go to starbucks they reali have nice coffe and all kinds of things. you can also get it STRONGER or u can shutup and make your own

  16. Mark C says:

you can’t beat a small independent cafe. Places like pizza hut, Starbucks, McDonald’s etc are like production lines, all follow a strict recipe. At least in a cafe you can request how strong / milky you would like it.

  17. Annie M says:

I dont drink coffee but try the cafes in M&S, BHS or Debenhams, I have tea in there and its much better than anywhere else Ive tried. My partner drinks coffee in there and he has no complaints, plus they do nice snacks!

  18. SAH says:

Chains seem to slip into the head office spreadsheet syndrome so old favorites like Starbucks seem to have slipped in taste in proportion to success.

I tend to look for an independent cafe with a good espresso machine and some good decor – if they have invested in those then chances are they have sourced a good coffee.

In short I dont think there is a universal brand that makes or sources consistently good coffee and it might just be that large chains for volume reasons just cant deliver really good coffee,

  19. AllPyxie says:

The Bean Scene do fabulous coffees and cake. Unfortunately, they’re only in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, St Andrews and Ayr.

  20. Budge says:

The worst is definitely from a High Street cafe in Ullapool, Scotland. I was looking at some paintings on the wall and I could see into the back room. A large catering size jar of Nescafe, semi skimmed milk and white sugar. It was awful and they charged £1.40 for it. I wouldn’t give Nescafe or the other heavily advertised ditchwater coffees to my worst enemy let alone try to sell it to the public.

  21. margaret s says:

Cafe Nero or Costa Coffee at the Trafford Centre(Starbucks is SH*T) You could go to the M&S outlet in Denton as there coffee is ok but the carrot cake leaves a bit to be desired.

  22. Annie P says:

Starbucks has to be the most over-rated place ever. Weak coffee in mugs the size of buckets!
Neros is ok but not great.
For a decent cup of coffee I generally find a small cafe with a proper espresso machine is best.

  23. hopeithelps says:

Forget about these high street, multinational or chain stores. They have lost the art of making a good cupa a long time ago – maybe after selling their first franchise. Go to the independent cafes where their business depends on repeat custom – they are more interested in good a good product and good service. And if they are Italian that may be better still. Good Luck.
