I figure it this way….if I use coffee grounds and it makes 10 cups for 4 scoops, measure out the scoops and divide into the amount of grams in the can…..probably about 50 to 60 cents for a pot of coffee
Same way for the tea..loose or bagged.

It depends on the brand and quality of tea/coffee.

I purchase high quality green coffee beans and roast my own. It costs me about $0.10 a cup…that include the shipping costs.
so for a company who buys in bulk and gives a cheap price to the growers it is probably less than half that amount.

    cost of the coffee maker
    cost of filters
cost of cold spring filtered water
    cost of coffee beans
cost of electricity used to run maker
cost of person to make it

over a long period of time (5 years) with all supplies bought in bulk and the quality of coffee purchased, it probably costs 10-15 cents a cup.

I’ll let you into a secret. I ran a cafe and it worked out at 4 pence to make a cappuccino or a latte which we then sold for £1.50. Every cafe does the same though.
